Getting Started Guide

Use this guide for first-time setup, sign-in, and safe account use.

1. Scope and Expectations

This is a student-only guide.

  • You can manage your sign-in, app preferences, and daily usage.
  • You cannot directly edit school schedule data in the app.
  • If schedule data is wrong, collect details and use the escalation steps in the troubleshooting guide.

2. Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • Your student email address.
  • Your sign-in method (password, magic link, or school auth flow).
  • A modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox).
  • A stable connection for first sign-in.

Recommended:

  • Use your personal device when possible.
  • Keep browser cookies enabled for this site.
  • Complete setup once while on reliable Wi-Fi.

3. First Sign-In Setup

  1. Open the app URL.
  2. Tap or click Sign in.
  3. Enter your student email.
  4. Complete the required authentication step.
  5. Wait for dashboard load.
  6. Verify your current block and next block cards appear.

You are fully set up when all of these are true:

  • Dashboard opens without looping back to sign-in.
  • Current block and next block appear.
  • Schedule page opens for today.
  • Settings page opens.

If prompted for notifications during setup:

  • Choose Allow only if you want class reminders.
  • You can change this later in settings.

4. If Sign-In Fails

Try in this exact order:

  1. Re-enter your email carefully.
  2. Reset password if needed.
  3. Refresh the page and sign in again.
  4. Use a private/incognito window.
  5. Clear site cookies and retry.
  6. Try another browser.

If you still cannot sign in, capture:

  • Exact error message text.
  • Device and browser.
  • Time of failure.

Then follow escalation in Troubleshooting and FAQ.

5. Installing on Phone or Laptop

Install improves quick access and can improve notification reliability.

On Chrome/Edge desktop

  1. Open the app.
  2. Click Install App in the address bar if shown.
  3. Confirm installation.

On iPhone/iPad (Safari)

  1. Open the app in Safari.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open the app.
  2. Tap browser menu.
  3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm.

6. Account Safety on Shared Devices

If you use a school lab or shared family device:

  1. Sign out every time.
  2. Do not save your password in the browser.
  3. Close all app tabs.
  4. Remove installed app icon if needed.

7. What to Check After Setup

Confirm these three checks pass:

  1. Dashboard shows your current and next block.
  2. Schedule page shows today correctly.
  3. Settings page opens and saves changes.

8. Most Common First-Day Mistakes

Avoid these to save time:

  1. Signing in with a non-student email address.
  2. Denying browser storage/cookies for the app.
  3. Switching between many tabs during first login.
  4. Expecting notifications before permission is granted.
  5. Not refreshing after a same-day schedule update.
